Give Him Ten!

I challenge you to say, end of ten days really fast ten times. Good, say it again really fast another ten times. Okay, say it one last time, end of ten days. Great! Are you wondering  what is so significant about ten days?

This morning as I sat watching the pre-dawn turn into dawn and the light of a new day, I prayed for the Body of Christ. My heart has been burdened for the Bride for some time. I prayed a consistent prayer of my heart that the Bride would desire to be healed and delivered from the spiritual bondage that is afflicting so many on a personal level. That She would push aside the subtle attempts of the enemy that causes so many who are passionate about their theology to be distracted from the real work God has called us too.

Perhaps you’re also wondering what end of ten days has to do with the Body of Christ. No, it is not an apocalyptic revelation. As I sat praying Holy Spirit reminded me of something He showed me yesterday as I was studying in the book of Daniel.

At the end of ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. Daniel 1:15

In the original Hebrew the word ten in this verse means to take a tenth or tithe. God spoke to my heart that He not only wants you to tithe back to him from your finances but to tithe in all area’s of your life.

  1. Give Him ten days of your early morning.
  2. Give Him ten days serving others.
  3. Give Him ten days encouraging others.
  4. Give Him ten days off from being consumed by world events.
  5. Give Him ten days devoted to prayer beyond yourself.

Give God ten, then give Him another ten, then give Him one more and you’ve made an excellent spiritual habit!

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10

When you bring your whole tithe, whether finances, time, resources, spiritual gifts or anything you’re really good doing, God, in His infinite grace and mercy and because of His unending, unfailing, unconditional love for you, makes you a promise. He promises to throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing there will not be room enough to store it! God even tells you to test Him! I like how The Message phrases this: Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams.

I pray that you will give God ten not for the blessings He promises but because you love, honor and revere the One from Whom all blessings flow.
